Logic of Billing in Stock Transport Order

Hello,

Can you please tell me the logic of billing in a stock transport order between plants belonging to the same company code?

Is billing mandatory and whats the use/advantage?

STO can be for SD and MM

WITH SD:

if the machine parts are heavy ( ie need many packing materials, and shipping from shipping point ) , then go for SD delivery. better to discuss with SD guy and core team .

WITH MM:

if want to make simple like material issued in head office and and received at other sites ,then use STO with MM
