Hi,
Where is Validation and Substitution for PS defined? Could you also help to explain a bit and provide example on the purpose of Substitution? (Is it like if I put company code as XYZ then system will always default my plant as ABC - and will overwrite user specified plant field value?)
Thanks!
Vivian
Hi,
for Substitution transaction is OPSN and for Validation OPSI.
Substitutions are validations are object wise
If ur going to define substitutiion for WBS- Define a new substitution rule
In prerequisites select Company Code = XYZ
Substituion screen select Ur Plant and the constant value to be replaced or entered.
The substitution takes place when u save the project.

Hi,
You can create and maintain validations (Process of checking values and combinations of values as they are entered into the SAP System).eg. your project ID first two character is AA then project profile should be BB in this case you can create a validation for this if your are putting wrong Proj. profile then system throw error message..
In substitution your theory is correct.
