In order to use the Outlook Integraton, is the server required to be an Exchange Server?
Hi Kathy,
Note 911171 is a problem happening in Exchange environment but OI can work without that.
Outlook Integration (OI) is basically an add-on to Outlook. You can choose to send email by OI from B1, and email is being processed by Outlook, which has nothing to do with OI then.
As to synchronization, quotation import with B1, Exchange Server is not required either.
For more information about OI, please also go to OI landing page:

As far as I know, it is the best email server to support. Even if it can be run on another email server, your first choice should be using Exchange to reduce potential troubles. Check SAP note 911171 to see the message implied.
Thanks,
Gordon
