Placing a SUM on the Detail Line

My report looks like this:

Veges

-

---

Carrots 10

Beets 20

-

---

Total 30

I want it to look like this:

Veges Total

-

---

-

---

Carrots 10 30

Beets 20 30 ( I will suppress this one)

I can do this by using WhilePrintingRecords in a formula. However, I need to reset the total for my next set (reset when the group changes). I don't know how to reset it when the group changes, it is summing the entire report.

I tried to use 'Underlay next section' so the Detail would print next to the Group Footer, but that did not work.

Any other ideas would be appreciated. My customer does not want the space of the extra 2 lines on the report.
