BC Transformations available

Hi,

we are trying to use transformations as part of a NEW BI 7.0 implementation.

In the Business Content, when selecting objects I cannot find any transformation related to HR, SD, MM, and FI modules, but only Update Rules and Infosources.

Could somebody refer me to the list of available transformations in the Business Content related those modules?

We are currently at BI 7.0 SP 18 and BI_CONT level 10.

Thanks

Enric

Transformations wont be available in BI content.

You need to migrate your datasource, transfer rules and update rules.

In the datasource you get the option "migrate" on right click.

Also under addtional functions you get option create transformation which converts your TR or UR to transformation.

Hope this helps.

thanks Praveen,

so, the procedure is the following one (please correct me if I'm wrong):

1) Install all necessary dataflow form Business Content in 3.X version (that is, from cube to datasource using UR, IS and TR)

2) Upon UR, use Context menu --> Create tranformation

3) Upon TR, use Context menu --> Create tranformation

4) After these steps, UR, IS, TR and DS are migrated into 7.0

5) Create DTP

Finally, I've been checking and seen some transformations available for FI (based on datasource 7.0 FI_AR_20, FI_AR_30, FI_AP_20, FI_AP_30, etc).

What is the difference between them and the flow I used to use FI_AR_4 and FI_AR_6 (same for AP)??

Thanks again for all your help,

Enric

The migration steps you mentioned are right you can follow that.

but as 4th step you need to migrate datasource too.

The difference is all new BI datasource have transformation and all previously existed datasources in 3.X version are retained as the same.

Hope this helps.

One more thing when you migrate datasource make sure you do it "With Export" option.

This will help you get back TR and UR incase something goes wrong.
