u00AE ( Copyright) Symbol not produced by File Adapter

Hi,

We have a Material Master extract being pushed from ECC through XI. The XI System creates a file output. In one of the Material we have the Description as ® Libra . When we see the output in the File we see it as ? Libra. While the MONI XML payload still has it correct as ® Libra .

Is there any way we can produce this character in the File generated by XI?

which codepage have a assigned to the file adapter? Check, if this codepage supports the symbol.

Using the UTF-8 characterset in the receiver file adapter I have been able to bypass the issue.

Hi,

Also check on the format of file transfer , either text or binary.

I believe some of the symbols wont come in binary mode.

Check for the Unicode character set related to it.

Hi,

Chances are that the symbol is being put into your file. Depending on what you use to open your file you may or may not be able to see the symbol.

Try renaming your file to something.html and then open it up (will open with your browser) then see if the symbol is there.

What program are you opening the file up with?
