How to remove the defualt "..." from combobox of the prompt

Hi All,

I have created static parameter for one report in Crystal. When we refresh the report, the defualt "..."(dots) are coming in combobox. But, my client is asking the requirement like,

i) The "..."(dots) should not come in the combobox.

ii) Instead of "..."(dots) there should be display "Select a Location"

Anybody please help me to solve this problem.

Hi Murugan,

This is by design, this was not there in earlier versions of crystal reports. It is interduced from CR XI. If the user selects this option it will not execute anything also it will not allow the user to move forward.

Hi Murugan

Do the below steps:

1. Right click on the parameter field and click on Edit.

2. Clear all values first (from Actions).

3. Now select the first row in the values(where it's written "Click here to add item").

4.Type there your required string :"Select a Location"

5.Now select the value field for which you want to apply the parameter.

6.Append the values that you want. Click on Ok.

Refresh the report.

I did the same and I'm getting the required string in combobox. But the "..." are also coming in drop down list.

When you select the first row in the values(where it's written "Click here to add item") and type there your required string :"Select a Location", immeadiately click on the value field straight away.

Do not click on any other row of the values, else if you click on any row and don't anything there, it would display as "..."
