Error accessing BSP page

Dear all,

When i try to access a BSP i get the following error

While trying to retrieve the URL: http://:8000/sap/bc/solman/defaultUser/graphic/solmangraphic.htm?

The following error was encountered:

Unable to determine IP address from host name for hngslm.hngil.com

The dnsserver returned:

Name Error: The domain name does not exist.

This means that:

The cache was not able to resolve the hostname presented in the URL.

Check if the address is correct.

when i replace the host name with IP address i get the following error.

Hello,

It has already been posted to check your DNS server enteries, but you also need to have defined the parameter

icm/host_name_full withj the value of the Fully Qualified Host Name to use HTTP services in Solution Manager sucessfully.

Please ensure this parameter has been set to the correct value. Also ensure HTTP Services have been activated in the IMG activity in the transaction SPRO.

Hi Avinash,

BSP only works fine when you use FQDN. IP Addressess are note fully supported.

Regarding the first error you got ( DNS Error ), can you ping the host.domain.ext from your workstation?

If no, you need to fix your DNS Server.

If yes, check the DNS Server if it is pointing to the right IP Address of your host.

Also, the DNS Server MUST know the domain.ext you are referring to in your URL, or at least must know to where it should redirect your requests.

i do have the below error for same scenario, was that because of Domain? i already set the FQDN domain....
