The selections you define in validation just set determines the set of FS items (might be some more chars). In order to get the KF values, use functions. For example, like VAL_YTD(SELECTION), etc.
Yes, you are right, to get the key figures values we can use functions. But I want to add a Key figure.. in the selection condition in the validation creation screen.
Selection is a set of characteristics for which one needs to get some figures/amounts. These figures one may get by using functions as I said. It's the proper way.

It is possible to create a selection condition for local currency (LC).
Click on the create icon (center-left section of screen). Then in the lower left-center of screen there is a Add Characteristics icon. Click on this Add Characteristics icon and choose Local Currency.
