Sub-reports generating blank headers and footers

I have a number of sub-reports that keep modifying themselves and adding an extra header and footer. I have tried deleting them, suppressing them, but new headers/footers keep getting added (at run-time?)

The sub-reports are located in a main report footer section.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hello,

I have had this happen to me also. It looks like it adds the extra header and footer to the subreport if the subreport is an external subreport which you imported into your main report. If you don't use the subreport in other reports, you may want to: 1. open the main report then right-click on the subreport and open it.

2. remove the extra header and footer

3. save the main report but don't save the subreport separately.

4. Rename the subreport.rpt file on your hard drive.

5. Re-open your main report and see if the subreport is accessible by right-clicking on it. It should not create the extra header and footer. If it does, delete them once more and save the main report only.

Hope this helps! If this doesn't work, please report back and I may be able to suggest something else you can try.

This solved my problem, many thanks for taking the time to reply. This has saved me a lot of frustration.
