Budgeting -- Availability Control

Hi,

I have a quesiton in Budgeting WBS elements. Since we can't budget at project level(I think there is no way to budget at project level, please let me know if there is) we decided to create 1st level of WBS element as project for this client.

Now coming to the budget, we are budgeting like below

1st level WBS element -- $10,000

WBS element 1(2nd level) - $2,000

WBS element 2(2nd level) - $3,000

WBS element 3(3rd level) -- $5,000

Availability control: client would like to configure in a such way that if the Budget of the individual WBS elements(in this case 3 WBS elements at 2nd level) exceeded, the responsible person should recieve a mail. If overall budget is exceeded 10,000 then the person responsible to the 1st level WBS element should recieve a mail. But it is not working in that with standard config.

Any suggestions on this??

have you released the budget to the respective WBS

then has your budget profile been set to cehck on release

if that is not set then it will keep checking above the hierarchy and only after 10000 it will error or warn based on your tolerance limit settings
