Can ECC 6.0 serve as a backend?

Can ECC 6.0 serve as a backend for generating proxies from ESR service interfaces. This ESR is sitting on CE 7.1.1 (not on PI)?

Or must I have a NW 7.0 (SP14 and above) backend instance?

ECC 6.0 can serve as back-end with ESR on top of CE BUT it must be release NW 7.0 SP14 or above (SP15 and 16).

Lower releases of the proxy framework do not support direct correction to the CE ESR, only to the PI ESR.
