BI SCC4 and SE06 settings

Hi,

Can someone tell me if it is ok to keep SE06 modifiable on Dev, QA and Production? Also, what are the normal settings for SCC4 and SE06 on a BI system?

Thanks,

Lee

Dibya,

Normally I would agree with you but we are finding that we can not get our BI datasources to update unless we set scc4 cross-client object changes to "no changes to repository objects" (not the one that says no changes to repository and cross client cusomizing objs) and we set se06 to modifiable for the following:

Business Intellegence content

customer developments

local developments

SAP Netweaver BI 7.0

customer name range

general sap Name range

test generation namespace for BW

/1BCPPF/PPF: Generated Objects only

GBU Financials, Financials Basis, Generated Objects

General SAP Generation Namespace

Generation Namespace for SAP BI Content

SAP BI Content: SAP Namespace

Business Information Warehouse: SAP NameSpace

BI Namespace for generated Meta Objects

Business Information Warehouse: Customer Namespace

BI Namespace (maximum Number of Characters)

I don't think I need all of those in SE06 but I am not sure which ones are required. Are you saying that SE06 can be completely set to "not modifiable" in QA and Prod?

Thanks,

Lee

Except for this one "General SAP Generation Namespace" you can have the others as modifiable in a BI scenario.
