Hi SDN Community
Has anyone into this issue, and if you know how to solve without upgrading the GUI level.
The problem:
Basically the user is not able to execute Currency Conversion on some reports. The user is currently on GUI 6.2.
I have tried the same thing with GUI 6.2 and had the same problem, executing on GUI 6.4 resulted in occasional runtime errors.
Users with GUI 7.1, can execute the Currency Conversion successfully.
Thank you.
Simon
As BHP still uses GUI 6.2 on it's SOE, we would like to know if this problem can be corrected without upgrading the GUI.
Is this on conjunction with BEx - if so what BEx FEP are they on?

Hi Simon,
Thank you for your interest.
I had a brief look at the note.
I would discount it for this reason:
One user has installed both SAPGUI 6.4 and 7.1 both on her pc.
The currency conversions when running via the 6.4 gui as i understood her (that is she launches WAD, and then the web template, and then publishes)
But the same process all works fine in the 7.1 WAD.
So not sure how this fits in with the OSS Note.
I have in any case lodged an SAP OSS Message as well and will update this post if they offer suggestions.
Thank you.
Simon
Hi Simon,
SAP replied, and it looks like SAPGUI 7.1 has solved the issue:

Dear Customer,
Please be awared that
as of 30.09.2005, only limited support is available for SAP GUI 620
You can refer to note 929300 for more details.
Also SAPGUI640 is desupported since Oct.14 2008,
We highly suggest you to use SAPGUI710 instead.
Btw, you can try below steps to completely uninstall the exist SAPGUI
and then do the reinstallation.
1,Remove current GUI using the uninstall parameter - Note 510048
2, After this, please make sure that the following folder
C:/program files/SAP/Frontend is properly removed. Otherwise, delete
it manually.
3. Make sure that no other versions of SAPgui exist on your PC. Please
refer to SAP Note 314973 to remove all traces of previous GUIs.
4. Remove everything in your recycle bin, then reboot your PC.
It is very important to clear your recycle bin and reboot your PC
first below re-installing your SAPgui again. Otherwise, if the dlls
are still in your recycle bin, they will not be properly
de-registered.
5. Install 6.20 Gui - applying the latest sap setup patches and patch up to the latest gui patch level from http://service.sap.com/swdc
currently is available the Patch 74.
Best Regards,
Tina Tian
