Hello All!
Please can someone explain what the best approach is for transporting the entries maintained in Define Backend Systems customisation?
As the Log system and RFC entries are different between our Dev and Qa systems is it suggested that this table is manually maintained. As things stand, the table entries for this customization in BBP_BACKEND_DEST are waiting in a transport betweem Dev and Qa
Any help would be appreciated!
Many thanks.

Hello,
A few customizing points contain entries like logical system, and RFC destination.
Transport them.
Then run a BDLS to convert logical systems : SRM and backend(s). Reactivate partner profile for ALE after running a BDLS.
Then manually change the rfc destination.
Rgds,
Pierre

Hi Mike
BDLS - will take care of your logical system wherever you mentioned.
Since you want to change it one piece of configuration you can do it sm30 for that table.
However best practice is BDLS since it will take care all database entries.
Please consult your basis team .

Hi Muthu,
Before close of this thread, in your opinion, pls let me know if it is best pratice to get the transports across first and to then perform the manual customisation or vice verse.
Our Netweaver team have manually added number ranges to our SRM-QA box, but are not sure if tranports go first or if manual customisation goes in such as middleware, WF and ALE and then transports.
Ciao,
Mikey.
Hi Mike,
Ans1:- Yes. regarding this request transport and do change wherever is applicable with smart method.
Ans2:- For number range configuration, best practice is to do fresh in the target system.
Please refer this link document on truth on srm transports
