CMIR Common Distribution Channel and Customer master info record

Hi

I have a few distribution channels e.g.

10

20

30

I have a few divisions e.g.

01

02

03

Now suppose I make 10 as the common distribution channel.

My Sales area are defined as

1000/10/01

1000/20/02

1000/30/03

-

---

I create a customer master with the following details:

Customer number : 1234

Sales Area : 1000/10/02

It allows me to create the customer and extend it to sales are 1000/10/02

Now I create an order with customer number 1234

The sales are which gets determined automatically is

1000/20/02

Reason for picking up 20 as the distribution channel is because division 02 is only associated with Distribution channel 20.

Now the main problem comes while creating the CMIR ( Customer Material Info Record )

If I try to create a record for customer 1234 using sales are 1000/10, I get the following error

Combination of sales org 1000 and distribution channel 10 is not defined

What should I do in this case.

The purpose of Common distribution channel failed in this case?

use t.code VOR1 and VOR2 .

plz flow this path

in SPRO/SD/MASTERDATA/ Define Common Distribution Channels & Define Common Divisions.

and maintend all the required filed with comman distribution channels(10)

and comman division (01).

it will help u.

Dear Mona,

You have to do the common division and common sales organisation settings also along with the common distribution channel setting then only common divisions and distribution channel will be help full.

For example:-

Your sales ares are

1000/10/01

1000/20/02

1000/30/03

If you want distribution channel 10 as common distribution channel then you need to do commom division and distribution channel like this.

Distribution channel 10 reference distribution channel 10

Distribution channel 20 reference distribution channel 10

Distribution channel 30 reference distribution channel 10

Division 01 reference division 01

Division 02 reference division 01

Division 03 reference division 01

Sales organisation 1000 reference sales organisation 1000

Now you can able to create master data under 1000 - 10 - 01 sales area.

Can't I just use common Distribution channels only and not common divisions.

Also I have assigned distribution channel to the sales org.

I don't have nay sales are 1000/10/01 and neither I want to create it,

You have to do Commom divisions also.

If you want create master data under this sales area or for distribution channel 10 you need to create sales area 1000/10/01.
