Dear Gurus,

What is the use of combine sales org, combine dist channel, combine division?

We assign sales doc type to sales area not to individually sales org, dist channel & division?

I cud nt understand sales org with ref 2 sales org, dist chnl with ref 2 dist chnl & with division also?

Wt is the logic behind that? Kindly give logical answer?

Regards

Rakesh

If there are many sales areas then the document types need to be assigned to each and every sales area. Instead of doing this combine feature can be used wherein different sales organizations, distribution channels and divisions can be "referenced" to a particular sales organization, distribution channel and division respectively. Then the sales document types which are permitted for one sales area can be used in the other sales areas also as they are referring the particular sales area to which the document types are allowed.

In short, it is to reduce the number of entries in SPRO.

GSL.

HI Rakesh,

Any sale happens only throgh sales area.

Sales Org- it approached customer through distribution channel and deals with customer through product/service.

For making a tranxtion easy and fast we do this activity.

OVAO/OVAM/OVAN/OVAZ

Dear Rakesh,

As GSL rightly mentioned that the use of Combine sales org. dist channel & division in addition to that,

I can say in one sentence what is the logic behind Combine sales org. dist channel & division.

"To share the sales document types to all sales areas"

It is like common divisions and distribution channel through this we can share the master data for all slaes areas which is maintained in one sales area.

But in Combine sales org. dist channel & division we share document types to all sales areas which are assigned to single sales area.

I hope this will help you,

Murali.

Hi Rakesh

The reference funcitonality is used to reduce the amount of master data as well as to have ease of use in operations

in addition to this the customisation effoprt required is alos less

when we do the reference , the customer and material master needs to be maiontained only for the referred channel/division and the it beomes aplicable for any other channel entered

also the user needs to enter only the reference area and then based on the customer details the systam propose the new area

these are some fo the benefits

hope this helps

Thanks

When you have many sales areas the master data which needs to be maintained is maintianed for each sales area and if you have customers who buy from many sales areas or all then you need to create the customer in each and every sales area. This causes duplication and also decreases the space. In order to avoid this you reference them and create the master data only in one sales area. This makes available in all areas.
