Crystal Reports 9 Save/Save As Buttons Not Responding

Former Member

I'm trying to install Crystal Reports 9 on my laptop. The installation process itself goes well but yet when I create a new report and click either the Save or Save As buttons, absolutely nothing happens. No dialogue box pops up so I'm unable to Save the report. When I exit the program, it asks if I want to save Report1 and I click Yes and nothing happens either.

Any ideas? I've uninstalled, rebooted, reinstalled numerous times.

If you have any ideas, please let me know.

Thank you.

Roger

Hi Roger,

Please let us know your operating system?

Are you using dual monitor?

I'm using Windows XP Pro, SP2 on a laptop... just using the built in LCD display.

Also, I just uninstalled Crystal Reports 9 again, rebooted and ran a registry cleaning program, rebooted and re-installed CR9. Still not working.

Thank you.

Is Save and Save As are disabled i mean greyed out ?

try with"Verify on first refresh".

Goto->File->report options->select Verify on first refresh

Thanks... Verify on First Refresh was already checked. The Save buttons aren't greyed out... nothing happens when you click on them. All of the other buttons under File seem to work though. Perplexing!

I would suggest you to manually register u201CFiledialog.dllu201D as follows:

1. Click 'Start' then 'Run'.

2. Type the following with quotes as shown:

regsvr32 "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Business Objects\3.0\bin\filedialog.dll"

The following confirmation appears: "DLLRegisterServer in C:\Program Files\Common Files\ Business Objects\3.0\bin\filedialog.dll succeeded".

Note:Path of filedialog.dll will be not exactly same because it depends on the versions.

Hope that helps!!
