"An attempt was made to access ... past its end" error message

I'm getting an error when opening a crystal report:

"An attempt was made to access C:\temp\<file name.rpt> past its end."

When I click OK, it brings me a prompt that says:

"End of file reached."

When I click OK, it kicks me out of Crystal without opening the report.

BTW, the report's size is 80MB which is abnormaly large but should that have been the reason for the error messages?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

I have found the same error message on the forums which states the following.

Article refers to: Crystal Reports 8

Symptom:

When attempting to open an existing report in Crystal Reports version 8 or later, the following error message is received:

"An attempt was made to access <reportname.rpt or path" passed its end"

Then click 'OK': "End of file reached"

Resolution

This message indicates the report file has become corrupt. Currently there is no workaround available to recover the report. The only option is to recreate the report.

What is the version of the Crystal Reports that you are using?

The message indicates that the report has corrupted. Currently there is no workaround available to recover the report. The only option is to recreate the report.
