Switching batch level

Folks,

We need to change the batch level from plant level to client level. We currently have many batches material combinations that are not unique and which are preventing me from convert the batches in OMCT. Report RM07CHDX is mentioned in different notes but is the same as the conversion option in customizing in OMCT.

Any suggestions on how to process these batches?

Regards,

MdZ

If you change the level from plant level to a higher level, it is possible that batches with the same batch numbers in different plants are actually identical. In this case, all you have to do is remove stocks

(including previous period stocks) so that all batches with the same batch numbers, except one, can be reorganized.

When you convert from plant level to material level, the material is then to be handled in batches in all plants in which it is defined.

Also look for the note 750319

Hi Charlie,

Thanks for your reply. Please see below for message that SAP gives me:

For 3.859 batches, no unique material definition could be determined

Most of these batches or not on stock anymore but shipped to a customer or consumed on a production order. So clearing the stock won't be possible I guess.

Hi Charlie,

Thanks again. By deleting you mean mark them for deletion and archive?

Cheers,
