Hi,
We have web dynpro applications running smoothly connecting to ecc 4.6 c r/3 system via Jco destinations.
Their are plans to upgrade r/3 to ecc 6.0 .
Will this have any impact on existing applications or portal behaviour.Or any changes in the behaviour of bapi themselves.Few questions that come to me immediately are ..should Jco be redefined should models be redefined..etc
Pls let me know. Also point me to the right info.
Many Thanks,
Ashok
Hi there,
There will be changes in the BAPI you have used to define the business logic.
Reason : When you upgrade, there can be changes in the standard table structures and other objects. Any custom development that use those objects will be impacted. Hence, there is a possibility that some of those RFCs may need to be re-coded. However, any changes made to the source code section of the RFC doesn't have any impact on the Web Dynpro that calls it as long as the Export/Import, Changing or Tables parameters are same. So, no need to re-import each and everything.
JCOs - It is good to re create them.
Hope that helps.
