Integrating Infoview in the SAP Portal

Hi all,

I have tried several times to configure the SAP Portal so it can display the BO portal, but there is been no success.

I would like to know if anyone has been able to make it work completely. The only thing that worked was creating an iView and

open BO (Crystal,Webi) reports with that iView, although I had to sign on because I was prompted for the user and the password.

I did everything that the manual says:

Configure SAP Authentication in CMC, the information regarding the SAP BW machine is FQDN

The SAP Portal and SAP BW trust each other

Both machines are on the same domain

I have imported the .par and .epa files

Created the system and the BO repository

And when trying to view the repo, I get a timeout connection.

Do I miss something?

I have checked the url it uses to log on to the CMC and if I paste it in an Internet Explorer in the BO machine, it gives me the following error:

<Exception>org.apache.axis2.AxisFault: The service cannot be found for the endpoint reference (EPR) /dswsbobje/services at org.apache.axis2.engine.DispatchPhase.checkPostConditions(DispatchPhase.java:62) at org.apache.axis2.engine.Phase.invoke(Phase.java:308) at org.apache.axis2.engine.AxisEngine.invoke(AxisEngine.java:212) at org.apache.axis2.engine.AxisEngine.receive(AxisEngine.java:132) at org.apache.axis2.transport.http.util.RESTUtil.invokeAxisEngine(RESTUtil.java:125) at org.apache.axis2.transport.http.util.RESTUtil.processURLRequest(RESTUtil.java:119) at org.apache.axis2.transport.http.AxisServlet$RestRequestProcessor.processURLRequest(AxisServlet.java:799) at org.apache.axis2.transport.http.AxisServlet.doGet(AxisServlet.java:242) at javax.servlet.http.HttpServlet.service(HttpServlet.java:689) at javax.servlet.http.HttpServlet.service(HttpServlet.java:802) at org.apache.catalina.core.ApplicationFilterChain.internalDoFilter(ApplicationFilterChain.java:252) at org.apache.catalina.core.ApplicationFilterChain.doFilter(ApplicationFilterChain.java:173) at com.businessobjects.dsws.wsc.common.axis.FlashFilter.doFilter(Unknown Source) at org.apache.catalina.core.ApplicationFilterChain.internalDoFilter(ApplicationFilterChain.java:202) at org.apache.catalina.core.ApplicationFilterChain.doFilter(ApplicationFilterChain.java:173) at org.apache.catalina.core.StandardWrapperValve.invoke(StandardWrapperValve.java:213) at org.apache.catalina.core.StandardContextValve.invoke(StandardContextValve.java:178) at org.apache.catalina.core.StandardHostValve.invoke(StandardHostValve.java:126) at org.apache.catalina.valves.ErrorReportValve.invoke(ErrorReportValve.java:105) at org.apache.catalina.core.StandardEngineValve.invoke(StandardEngineValve.java:107) at org.apache.catalina.connector.CoyoteAdapter.service(CoyoteAdapter.java:148) at org.apache.coyote.http11.Http11Processor.process(Http11Processor.java:869) at org.apache.coyote.http11.Http11BaseProtocol$Http11ConnectionHandler.processConnection(Http11BaseProtocol.java:664) at org.apache.tomcat.util.net.PoolTcpEndpoint.processSocket(PoolTcpEndpoint.java:527) at org.apache.tomcat.util.net.LeaderFollowerWorkerThread.runIt(LeaderFollowerWorkerThread.java:80) at org.apache.tomcat.util.threads.ThreadPool$ControlRunnable.run(ThreadPool.java:684) at java.lang.Thread.run(Thread.java:595)</Exception>

Hope someone can help

Thanks a lot

Hi Juan,

- you imported the EPA file for the master iView ?

- you configured the BusinessObjects SAP authentication ?

- you configured the BW box to accept SSO Tickets ?

- the reports are published from the BW system to the BOE system ?

- can you view the report in InfoView with your SAP Credentials without being asked for user credentials again ?

- In the portal :

- you see the iview template for BusinessObjects Enterprise ?

- you configured the system in the System landscape and did add the BOE Server as properties ?

thanks

Hi,

when you open the SAP system in the system landscape there is a property category called "Crystal Enterprise server" where you need to put the details of your BOE server.

When you call Infoview from the portal you are using the "URL Iview".

You need to configure the URL with the correct path to the BOXI server Infoview.

I have an example in my portal calling BOXI rel 2 but Infoview has problems rendering properly there. I get javascript errors there related to the inability of infoview to find the correct parent DHTML element when it displays objects.

Let me know if you want more infomation on this.

I'm going to try our BOXI rel 3 infoview in the days to come.

Hi Michael

I have seen Java Script errors in Infoview if the Buiness Objects Server is not in the trusted sites or Intranet in your browser (IE)

Hi Michael,

the URL iView is static and the way I described the URL stays dynmic and you can have multiple BOE system defined in the portal.

We are tyring to do the same but we are not able to get the SSO work from SAP portal to BO infoview. when we try to preview the URL iview from Portal. it asks for the logon informatio for the infoview.

  • you imported the EPA file for the master iView ? yes

  • you configured the BusinessObjects SAP authentication ? YES

  • you configured the BW box to accept SSO Tickets ? YES

  • the reports are published from the BW system to the BOE system ? YESA

  • can you view the report in InfoView with your SAP Credentials without being asked for user credentials again ? yes

  • In the portal :

- you see the iview template for BusinessObjects Enterprise ? YES

- you configured the system in the System landscape and did add the BOE Server as properties ? YES

Are there any SSO settings we have to do on BO or EP????

Hi Sandeep,

I think the problem could be the FQDN, all the references to the bo machine should be FQDN so the SSO can work.

On the other hand, I am not sure of what you are trying to do, are you trying to integrate Infoview in the SAP Portal? If so, you should use a KM Navigation iView, not the template Business Objects iView. you will need to define a new repository and then configure all the parameters.

I hope this can help you

Regards
