Hi Everybody,
Following is the scenario :
1. A lot(say LOT1) of type 04 was created when a process order was confirmed and GR was done. The quantity didnt move to Quality Inspection stock as the Post to insp. stock check box was not checked for inspection type 04 in the QM view of material master
2. Now the user moved the quantity to quality stock manually using movement type 322. As a result a lot(say LOT2) of type 08 was created
3. The user took a UD for LOT1 and posted all the quantity to unrestricted
4. This unrestricted quantity was issued to a process order and now there is no quantity available in the batch
5. When the user tries to take a UD or cancel the LOT2, the system gives error saying deficit of quantity as there is no quantity available in the batch to be posted
Keeping this scenario in mind, please let me know is there any way to get rid of this LOT2 ? If yes, how.
Regards,
Manish.
Hi Manish,
If that indicator is off for inspection type 04 in QM view of MM how the user can post the quantity for that lot through UD of LOT1?
3. The user took a UD for LOT1 and posted all the quantity to unrestricted
Anyways now try to cancel the material document number that is responsible for 'Lot2' creation.

Shyamal

Hi Shyamal,
Thanks a lot for your response.
The quantity had been moved to QI manually(Mvt Typ 322) and so when the user took the UD, the quantity moved to unrestricted.
The LOT2 is created using movement type 322 so now when we try to cancel it, the system doesnt finds any quantity to reverse(perform 321) as the quantity is issued to a process order. So is there any other way to get rid of this lot ?
Regards,
Manish.
This is very strange. Are you sure you don't have some user exits or follow up actions in place?
First off.. the first 04 lot should not have been stock relevant. It might have had a stock posting screen but it should not have moved any material.
Second, the material you moved into QI should have been attached to the second 08 lot.
So.. this is very confusing.
But... why not reverse some of what you did. The first lot is now clear. Reverse the production, place the material back into QI after turning off the 08 inspection types. (you shouldn't be able to do this with an 04 inspection type activated).
Then try using the existing 08 inspection lot to post the material back out.
I have no confidence that it will work. But then again, I'm not sure how you got into this spot to begin with.

Hi Manish,
Instead of reversing better you can set the Lot block status.
1. Go to QA02 enter lot number and press enter.
2. got to Menu Inspection Lot and choose Block lot under Functions and save.
