Hi all, I am new to SAP PP.
Can anyone please explain whats the actual meaning for SKU in PP , Whther it is related to materials or Production orders.
Where its come ?
Dear,
In Material master base unit of measure is defined.
Base unit of measure is the Stock keeping Unit
It is the naming generally used by the manufacturers. In some clients they use all the material types as SKUs. So there is no difference in planning these two.
Stock keeping unit (SKU) is an identification, usually alphanumeric, of a particular product that allows it to be tracked for inventory purposes. Typically, an SKU is associated with any purchasable item in a store or catalog. An SKU is not the same as a product model number from a manufacturer, although the model number could form all or part of the SKU.
Hope clear to you.
