Problem with PMS Applications and load is not getting distributed

Former Member

Hi All,

We are having the R/3 system with landscape(CI and 4 DI). We have PMS application running in portal.

When the users are login into the portal, all RFC connections are

getting distributed to application servers in R3, but the "Plugin HTTP

Sessions" are going only on to the CI Server in R3.

we need Http Sessions also to be distributed to all Applications

servers in R3 just like RFC connections.

Dear All,

ANS from SAP Support

I am not sure if you have implemented SAP webdispatcher.

I think the effective load balancing in this scenario cannot be done

using the mesage server and it can only be done using the

SAP Webdispatcher.

Please refer to the following link which for further information

about this:

http://help.sap.

com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/28/75153a1a5b4c2de10000000a114084/frameset.htm

Please find the information as mentioned in the help documentation:

************************************************************************SAP recommends that you use the SAP Web Dispatcher as the entrance pointfor your Web queries. This is then used as the access point for your

network and also executes load balancing for HTTP requests.

You can only use the SAP Message Server for HTTP load distribution, if

the browser is the direct client of the message server. If another

component lies between the client (browser) and the message server, (forexample, the portal), you cannot use the message server to distribute

the load.

************************************************************************

So, I recommed you to install the SAP Web Dispatcher for the load

balancing to work effectively.
