Personal Data- Make Form of Address Optional

Hi All,

In ess-mss as we don't have Finland specific screens for personal information, I am reusing Germany screens.

In Personal Data screen there is field called - Form of address,which is mandatory.

But we dont want to use this field.

I tried through Web dynpro personalization, but as its mandatory even though I hide it, it gets shown while changing data.

I also tried through screen modifications, but I guess it affects only R3 screens.

Is there any place in SPRO, from where we can make this field optional ?

Hi,

I understand that you are using German screens since Finland specific screens are not available. However here is some info that i want to share with you. It says Finland specific Personal Data screens are available. Also,in R/3 'Form of Address' field is 'Optional' and has been hidden for your customer. Does this help?

Thanks for the information.

I checked in other systems and found that even Finland specific screen has this field called - Form of Address. In addition it doesnot have Gender field, which we require (atleast Display).

So I think German screen best suits our requirement than Finland specific.

As suggested by SAP, we can reuse country specific screens, which meets our requirements best.

Did you read this post by Vinod Patil.

You can reuse other countries screens for the same.

Goto Own Data -> Reuse Country Specific Applications in SPRO and follow 3 steps:

1. Assign Screen structure to Infotpe

2. Define active subtypes and use cases for the country that you are reusing

3. Define country specifc application

Choose the country whose personal info fields match with your requirement.

Just hide it from the page. So no one gets to see it.

Now if someone changes any other info he clicks the button "Review" and goes to another screen. Here, u get to see the hidden field again.

So hide it from this screen also.Remember this is a different screen from the one that was there in the main page.Hence you need to hide it from both the screens
