When the validation is executed with AFD Investment flagged on, how does the validation works?
Does it compare the AFD entry done for group account with 'Total Cube' data for same account?
If so if in some accounts for which value is entered in 'Totals' but not in AFD will it give an error?
Please give some inputs how does it works..

When you enter AFD it includes items and possibly subassignments for investments and equity, depending on the location of values settings.
These values in AFD for these items (and corresponding subassignments) is compared with the values in the totals records and differences raise either an error or warning, depending on the settings in the task.
