material number ranges

Hi gurus

My client want material number ranges with hyphen, space, dot, etc..

For example

For raw material the template should be - XYZ/RAW/56245

And

For trading material the template should be - XYZ/TRD/62959

How can I do this in SAP

HI

Go to MMNR and u can define the number ranges as per your client requirements. You will have to select the external number range accordingly.

Use Enhancements MGA00002 & MGA00003 on Material Number Ranges

Dear,

T-code: - MMNR

Than click on Group button and right click on mouse.

Than click on insert group.

Enter Text for Material type and Enter interval from number to To number and press enter.

Than click on your material type and select element button then click on target of your material number range.

You can also set material number length for Material type.

If you want to create material master code with 9 numbers like 100000001.

You can do this setting with OMSL t-code.

Enter OMSL t-code and just enter material no. Length as 09.

hi NK,

>For alphanumeric number range, you can use some of the characters like !, @ , # , $ , % , ^ , - , ? , ; , " , ' etc. You can not use characters like (, ), *, & etc. Even space is allowed.
