How many queries on Excel supports Live Office on Xcelsius

Hi there,

I have a customer who is asking How many queries or views within Excel supports Live Office on Xcelsius4.5 (Designer).

Platform:

Windows 2003 Server SP1.

BO XIR2 SP3.

Hi Marlon,

There is no defined limit in Xcelsius with how many Live Office views/connections you can have in a single model. However, affect on performance will depend on the amount of data you are bringing back from those queries and the complexity of your Excel logic.

As a best practice, we'd suggest keeping the amount of connections below 10 while limiting the amount of data coming back in a single query to be below 500 rows.

Best practice for performance issues would be to use only 1 LO-Connection with <500 rows (however this might not be possible in some situations), because the LO-Connections are serial connections. The more connections you use the longer the refresh will take.
