Automatic Distribution of Maintenance Certificates

Hi!

Has some one experience dealing with the issue "Automatic Distribution of Maintenance Certificates"?

I already read the SAP link therefore and have still some questions?

1) Do I need this feature as of 1 October 2008?

2) Which advantages do I have implementing this issue?

Information on [Maintenance Certificate in SAP Support Portal |http://www.service.sap.com/maintenancecertificate] will be updated soon.

answer to 1) New date will be published soon. Nothing will be happen on 1-Oct-2008.

answer to 2) You will be able to apply new released Support Packages.

Automatic distribution of Maintenance Certiticates for ABAP based systems can be done with SAP Solution Manager 7.0 SP16.

How about JAVA only systems, e.g. EP7.0 and NWDI? Do they have a maintenance certificate

or they are excluded (see note 1251060) ?If they are excluded, where is the complete exclusion

list? Thx!

You have to do this manually.

Note 1236587 - JSPM - no valid maintenance certificate found

It is currently not possible to distribute the maintenance certificate for AS Java automatically using SAP Solution Manager.

So you mean after the manual install of the maintenence certificate, both

licenses will show up in "license adapter" at VA? Thx!
