I have just downloaded the trial of Crystal Reports 2008. I am trying to use the dynamic image feature with a file format gif. From what I am reading on the forums here, it would seem that this version would support this format. However, when I click on Insert --> image and select the gif, it says that this file type is not supported nor is gif in the list of file types I can choose to open. Am I doomed to convert all my gifs to jpegs?
Thanks!
Hi Kristina,
Yes, the .gif format is not supported in CR2008

While trying to use the dynamic image feature with GIF File Format, we get an error message which says GIF is not supported Image File.
This behavior occurs because Crystal Reports 2008 does not fully support the GIF file format.
To resolve this behavior, use a supported image formats like:
u2022 Joint Photographic Experts (JPEG)
u2022 Windows Bitmap (BMP)
u2022 Tagged Image File Format (TIFF)
u2022 Portable Network Graphics (PNG)
As well, Crystal Reports supports this vector-based image format:
u2022 Windows Metafiles (both WMF and the newer enhanced metafile format).
For more information on working with images, refer to the Crystal Reports Online Help by pressing the 'F1' key.
Regards,
Alpana
