Report Builder: Find out user running Report

Former Member

Hello everyone,

I am trying to write a report where I only return data that is associated with the user that is running the report. I can't seem to find if there is a variable that tells me who is running the report. Can someone please let me know?

Thanks so much for your help!

Kristen

Hi Kristen,

are you working with XL Reporter? If so, I would recommend you log your question on the main SAP Business One forum instead of this one.

No, this is for the Report Builder in WebTools, not XL Reporter. Does anyone have a solution?

Thank you,

Hi Kristen,

You can't pull the user by using %%UserID%% or by accessing it via the base page?

Was that a question? Sorry, I don't understand the response. I need to use a variable in my query inside the report that will know what the current User Id is. Can I do that inside of the Report Builder?

So, ultimately the report would return,

select * from Prospects where salespersonid = %%UserID%%

Or something to that affect? Can that be done, or is there a way around it, other than security on the reports?

Thanks for the assistance!

Hi Kristen,

Unfortunately, the reports have no access to the system variables.

The parameters are the only filtering method available and I can't see any way to accomplish this.
