Deadline handling

Dear Experts,

Can you please explain what is deadline handling in workflow?

Usually workflow goes to a set of approvers.

But when the deadline is reached , it workflow goes into inbox of

completelty different approvers.

On what basis is this done and why is this done?

Can you explain in detail as im new to workflow..

Hi,

Dead line monitoring is used to notify approver about deadline of task.

If you set deadline against your approving task for particular date for e.g. leave request WF.

If you want to monitor it and want to give alert via mail you can do it by deadline monitoring step.

Depending on your requirement, you can use any of these 4 deadlines available. What exactly is your requirement ?

Hi,

go thru the Help.sap.com for "Deadline Monitoring " info.

In your case, what's happening is, when the deadline(Latest End,Req.End etc.,), they might be "Setting witems to Obsolete" by which the expired witems in the original intended agents were take out(Thru a "Process Ctrl" step) and in the Outcome of "Processing Obsolete" branch, you might be sending the same task to another set of users.

Once you go thru the help on "Deadline Monitoring " , you should be able to understand what i am talking about.
