Inventory value - quantiy zero

Hi all.

We have the following scenario in one of our customer dbs:

the DB is 2005A PL 46

The inventory has been emptied (no items has any quantity in any warehouse) but some of the items still have value in the column "Cumulative value" When running the inventory report called "Inventory Audit Report". The value in "Cumulative quantiy" is zero. How can this bee? The quantiy is supposed to be zero and the stored value should also bee zero on all items. The quantities have been updated to 0 (zero) with the stock posting function in SAP.

I heard some rumors about a note for this scenario, but haven't been able to find it. Has anyone some good ideas on how to solve this issue?

Thanks and regards, Runar Wigestrand

Hi Runar

There was an issue with 2005A when using the initial stock quantity function. The problem was that this entry type was not included in the stock audit report and stock would therefore not balance back to the G/L balance. This was one of the issues we had. I tried bringing in a quantity of 1 using Goods Receipt, revaluing and then issuing, but this did not solve it either. The other problem had to do with how SAP Business One dealt with negative stock or with items receipted at zero cost and subsequently sold or issued at a cost. This issue has been addressed in 2007A, but will unfortunately not rectify incorrect stock in the old version when upgrading. You could try log with support and maybe someone will help "clean up" the database and get stock balanced again.

We decided to live with it as the customer agreed to a new database with take on entries to get rid of all the old problems.

Kind regards
