Performnace Issue of Solution Manager

Hi All,

I am facing strange prob with my solution manager.since morning its very very slow. While getting the login screen (after clicking logon tab in saplogon pad) also its taking lot of time. When I checked SM50 almost all the WP's are in waiting state. In ST06 50% of physical memory is available total RAM is 6GB and almost 3 GB is free. There is time consuming background job is running but still when I checked ST03 Dialog Response Time is very high............In St02 all buffers are showing more than 99% hit ratio but EXPORT/IMPORT Buffer is showing only 41%.

What could be the reason behind this slowness, I am really confused.

Is this a Network Issue?

Thanks in advance

Regards,

Prashant

Hi All,

I have noticed one more thing when I checked the ST06>detailed analysis-->high I/O activity for last 24 hours for every particulat hour Utilization % is showing 100%....what does this mean?

Pls suggest.

Hi,

If you noticed high disk IO utilization, then there are bottlenecks on your disks. From ST06 - snapshot analysis - disk, identify which disk is having high usage and investigate it. Are the SAP data files spread evenly across the disk systems?

Cheers!

Hi,

Thanks for ur quick response, I checked the ST06 transaction .In section "Disk with highest response time" Name is : C drive and % Utilization is 100%

Response time ms 3

Queue 1

Avg service time ms 3

Operations/s 576

We are using Windows NT in which we have 2 drives C and D both are having 17 & 18 % of free space.

Is this is OS related problem because this is a Solution Manager system so there is no as such heavy job is running in background. we have enough free RAM also.

What could be the reason behind this?

Waiting for ur frequent responses.

Hi All,

I checked my system from OS level and observed these things-:

1) Disk utilization for C Drive which contains oracle directory is 100% on the otherhand D Drive which contains USR/SAP dir and oracle/saptrace directories is okay....Disk utilization for this directory is very low.

2) I thought this may be due to some oracle issue, but when I checked alert_log in oracle\saptrace\background there is no oracle based error.checkpoints are completing without any issue.

3) That means from SAP side everything is fine(according to my analysis) ,so I checked for Memory and found that around 2 GB of Memory is free.

4) When I checked the processes from Task manager it showed me the highest mem consuming process as MXDOMAINMGR.EXE and at second position oracle.exe.

5) In ST06 CPU is showing 98% Idle.

How to resolve this slowness ?what could be the reason behind this slowness?

Regards,

Prashant

Hi All,

Finally I restarted the Solution Manager Server, now performance is okay and system is responding pretty well. Now disk utilization has also come down to a very small value.
