Workflow configuration in a new system

I have system where workflow needs to be implemented.

What are the configurations and settings required for this.

Hello,

Basically you just need to go to transaction SWU3 and click the automatic configuration button. If you are lucky, almost everything (except the number range) will be configured automatically for the system. And rest you can read from SAP help.

I need to maintain internet domain and the link to HR tables.

1) use SWU3 then

2)to maintain classes

SPRO->SAP IMG->SAP NETWEAVER->Application Server->Business management->SAP business Workflow->Basic Settings->Maintain Task Classes

3)to maintain substitute profile

SPRO->SAP Web application Server->Business Management->SAP Business Workflow->Basic Settings->Substitute Profile->Define Substitute. Here link substiutute with Classification.

Substitute profile will be used for SAP inbox while substitution is made for tasks.

4)then client wise configuration for WF is necessary

SPRO->SAP IMG->SAP NETWEAVER->Application Server->Business management->SAP business Workflow->Basic Settings->Maintain prefix number.

5)For task customizing

SPRO->SAP IMG->SAP NETWEAVER->Application Server->Business management->SAP business Workflow->Task Specific Customizing

6)for extended notif(useful for attachments)

SPRO->SAP IMG->SAP NETWEAVER->Application Server->Business management->SAP business Workflow->Notifications

This is all you need to do!

Basic is maintain prefix No.

Im really new to workflow. When i went to SWu3 and executed,

Im still getting some in red. Can you please help me.

The red ones are :

Maintain prefix numbers

Check entries from HR control table

Maintain webserver

Maintain std domain for Internet mail

Maintain guided procedures gateway

The only thing you really need to turn into green (if you are configuring the development system) is the "Maintain prefix numbers". Just click the execute button next to it, and the relevant customization transaction should open. You need to decide a number range for your workflow development objects. It needs to start with number nine, for example '900'.
