SAPService<EID> is not starting

Hi All,

I am unable to start the SAP.

The services list doesnt have SAPService.

When i try to execute the file sapstartsrv.exe its is asking me the user ID and password along with other details.

Can any body tell which user EID i should provide there.

Also, if the user is SAPService<SID>, we dont have the password now. Can we reset the password and give the new password here.

Or will the reset will have any other consequences?

Plz. advise urgently.

Hi Rama,

It is ok to reset the password for windows users <sid>adm and sapservice<sid>. You can re-register the service using ntscmgr tool of SAP and it should be fine, use user <sid>adm to re-register the service.

Check SAP Note 142100 for details on problems with SAP Services from release 4.5B onwards. You can download ntscmgr.exe from the SAP Note 618053.

Hi Rama,

What servise you have problem.there is so may services that should be strarted.

If you can reset password of SAPService<SID>, then it will be ok.You can use sidadm also.
