My DTP is running for ever..

Dear Experts,

I have scheduled a DTP to bring around 2 lacs of records into a cube. its runs fine for first few mins and then never go beyond this..

*Overlapping check with archived data areas for InfoProvider *

and its here almost for six hours i tried it many times but same its only comes till here and nothing happens after wards.

I have activated the DTP again and scheduled the run but still same. No dump or any clue in SM21 i have 3 parallel process.

But still no clue.

Can somebody guide me what could be wrong.

hi

try doing this ...

goto DTP, select goto menu and select "Settings for Batch Manager".

In the screen increase no of Processes from 3 to higher no(max 9).

Change the job class to 'A'...

this might work ..

If you run an oracle database plase check transaction DB01 if there are deadlocks on table DDFTX. If so you need to implement sap note 1231267.

Annother problem might be an endless loop in a routine in the update rule.

Hi Neel,

Check whether you have dropped the indices before you load the data? If not, delete the index, trigger the data load and create the index. There is a chance of deadlock that may happen when you are triggering the multiple processes. Multiple jobs will try to write the Fact table at the same time, hence there could be a deadlock at the backend. You can find these Short dump in ST22.
