Disk re-assignment on SQL2000/MSCS

I hope someone can offer some advice.

CI DB on SQL (MSCS/Server 2003) consists of 4 files.

Disk space is running low on 1 datafile.

My proposed solution is to Create a new large partition, stop SQL, copy the data file to the new partition.

Delete the physical disk resource for the file in the cluster manager.

switch the drive letters for the old/new partitions.

Re-add the physical disk resource with the new drive letter and name.

Start SQL Server.

Do I need to worry about disk signatures under these cricumstances?
