Former Member

Hi,

I am installing XI 3.0 SR1 on Win2000 sp4. I got struck at page 40 of installation guide trying to configure rfc destination INTEGRATION_DIRECTORY_HMI. I gave all the parameters as specified in the guide and clicked on "Test". I am getting the 404 Not Found error. The detalied error log is attached below. Can some one please let me know what could be the reason for the error?

Thanks

Sireesha

Hi,

It's typo.

Please enter path prefix <b>exactly</b> as -

/dir/CacheRefresh

Hi Youvraj

I had the prefix: /dir/cacherefresh

You are right, it must be exactly: /dir/CacheRefresh.

Thank you a lot.

Hi,

I tried executing the report mentioned above in SE38. And checked the URL Prefix. Its exactly /dir/CacheRefresh. I also checked the port(50000) in SMICM as well. I tried to type the url http://localhost:50000/dir/CacheRefresh. It comes back with 404 Not Found error.

I infact reinstalled the J2EE Addin after I installed the XI and Adapter Engine. Reinstallation was done to correct the UME Configuration settings which were given wrongly initially.

Can some one throw some light if reinstallation of J2EE AddIn could be the source of problem.

Any helpful answer is greatly appreciated.

Thanks and Regards

Hi Sireesha -

You mention that you resintalled the J2EE Engine (i.e. addin) AFTER installing the XI and adapter engine components. Did you do an uninstall of the J2EE engine before reinstalling the J2EE engine? If so, that would definitely be an issue since the XI components and AE are deployed on top of the J2EE engine.

In any case, first and foremost, do you get the main J2EE engine page (from a browser) when goto to: http://<xi_host>:50000 . This at least tells you the J2EE engine is up.

Next, can you get to the main integration builder page:

http://<xi_host>:50000/rep

If not, you have a problem with your XI components deployment/installation. If this is the case, you'll probably need to redo the XI (Java components) part of the installation again. Incidentally, when you do an SR1 install of the XI components, this includes installation of the central adapter engine. You only have to do a separate adapter engine installation if you're installing a decentral adapter engine.

Hi Jin,

I tried http://localhost:50000. It shown me the initial page with link to J2EE Examples. I could run the helloWorld example also from there. However http://localhost:50000/rep gives me 404 Not Found error.

As per your suggestion. I am trying to reinstall the XI Component again. But the setup is not asking me for any uninstallation of the existing setup nor any message saying that you already have the XI Component installed. Does it mean that the XI Component got deleted automatically?

You are saying that the Central Adapter Engine is installed while installing the XI Component it self. Does it mean that I dont have to install the Adapter Engine?

Thanks for your answers so far. Points will be waiting for you ...

Thanks

Hi Sireesha -

>>>As per your suggestion. I am trying to reinstall the XI Component again. But the setup is not asking me for any uninstallation of the existing setup nor any message saying that you already have the XI Component installed. Does it mean that the XI Component got deleted automatically?

It's hard for me to say not being able to see your system, but here are some things you can check:

- check link http://<xi_host>:<j2ee_port>/sap/monitoring/ComponentInfo

You should be able to see components like SAP_XITOOL, SAP_XIAF, SAP_XIAFC which would indicate that XI components are installed. You need role SAP_J2EE_ADMIN to access this.

- Using SDM, you can see what's currently deployed in the SDM repository for XI related components.

- Using Visual Admin, you can look for XI related services within the Server instance.

But in any case, try reinstalling the XI Java components (which is really what you're installing following the SR1 Installation Guide). If you run into problems during the installation and it's possibly due to already existing XI components, I would recommend, cleaning the slate and uninstalling the J2EE Add-in and starting again from the J2EE add-in part. Instructions for deleting the add-in are in the corresponding WebAS Java 6.40 <platform/db> install guide (in the last section - "Additional Information").

Regarding the central adapter engine, yes, this is installed automatically when you do the main installation of the XI Java components. Instructions in the SR1 guide specifically referring to the Adapter Engine are for a decentral adapter engine.

Hope that helps.

Best regards,

Jin

Hi Sireesha -

Please confirm your destination settings. A few things to consider:

- have you tried using the fully qualified host name?

- confirm your j2ee port from txn SMICM, then Goto->HTTP Server->Display Data

- what is the URL/path prefix you are using? /dir/CacheRefresh or /dir/hmi_cache_refresh_service/ext

- are you getting the same error when putting the URL in a browser?

Hi,

although it may seem obvious, please double check that your ABAP and your Java SP level match!!

Check in the Int. Directory whether the Cache notifications are giving you further info.
