Hi Experts,
In our production environment(BI 3.5),we have heavy DB growth.
Contribution of Change log table growth is more.Inorder to reduce the DB growth we are planning to cleanup change log table entries for FI( GL/AP/AR ) and CO(PCA/CCA/PS) and Logistics -PM,PO to improve the system performance.
We want to automate this change log deletion in our system.
I request any of your input to proceed further.
Regards
Kumar
Since you want to automate the process, nothing is better than Process Chain. You can schedule the chain weekly.monthy/daily depending on the requirement. Above posts will tell you how to do so exactly.
Thanks...

Hi,
an additional option is to create a process chain which deletes the data from the changelog.
Goto RSPC create a new chain with a start process. Then you can use process type "[Deleting Requests from the PSA|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04s/helpdata/en/b0/078f3b0e8d4762e10000000a11402f/frameset.htm]" because the change log is stored as a PSA table. You can find detailed informations how to use this process type here "[Deleting from the Change Log|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04s/helpdata/en/6d/1fd53be617d524e10000000a11402f/frameset.htm]". We use this scenario to delete some changelogs periodically and it is working fine.

Hi,
you can delete the change log data by this procedure
For change logs which are also PSA tables, the deletion can be done from ODS-Objects / DataStore
Objects> Manage>Environment-->Delete change log data.
and go through the this link to find more ..

Hi.......
Just schedule jobs for change log deletion.........
View the ODS with "manage". Click on "Environment" from the top menu and select "Delete change log data". Enter your selection (i.e. "older than 30 days"). Click on "Start conditions" and define scheduling variables (don't forget to select "periodic job" option if you want to delete them periodically). Save and start the job.
If this helps you kindly assign points......

Debjani.......
