Hi,

In PKMC : independent Source indicator is meant for

Replenishment to be controlled independently

This indicator is used to determine that an independent supply source has been allocated to the control cycle.

An independent supply source determines how material replenishment is to be carried out. That is, it specifies which replenishment strategy is to be used to refill the kanban.

Note

Usually, the replenishment strategy is defined for the control cycle and is automatically determined when scanning the bar code to trigger the signal for replenishment.
