Alternate unite of measurement in steel procurement

Hi all.

we have a scenario where steel material like L80x80x8 is to be purchased in pisces.This angle has a theorotical weight of measure per M.The material is received in various length.

At time of goods receipt we want to have different UOM ie PC and therolical weight.

eg 10 PC is ordered.Theorotical weight is 6 kg/m.the material is received as 10 pc of 7 m length.

At grn we have to maintain UOM as PC also therotical weight.

ie 10 PC and 1067=420 therotical weight.(kg).

how to map these.

please explain.

Dear,

basically in all industries

Basic Steel is procured in either Kg. or in Mtr.

Standard lenghts of that angles are 6 mtr. in market.

NOw ur scenario is ur procureing < 80X80X8 thk which is say X mtr long.

U want uwanted to know how many angles of lenght X mtr and specification as 80X80X8 available is it ?

If So then,

Create Material code for each and every lenght variation (Theorotical weight)

Maintain inventory carring unit as PC (base unit of measure

Procurement unit as Mtr inmaterial master.

And in inforecord maitain ordering unit as Kg.

If any doubt please Ask.

my code is L80x80x8.say uom is kgs.length is variable in meter.issued internally in pc of fixed length.

It is dynamic relation between pc and length and wt.

how to map this.

i think the procurement of the steel will be in kg or to only

if u saying o issue for work within the company

so u can maintain the unit in ur material master for issuing unit

here u can choose KGF Kilogram/Square meter

or u can create ur own with ref to the KGF in t code CUNI

dear All

I will again tell you my requirement again.Steel is purchased in sap PC.At receipt time I have to note the theorotical weight and length of bar and no of PC.This parameters are to be entered at MIGO.So the theorotical weight will be No of PC * therotical weight per Metre *length.

I have activated batch specific unit of measurement and mapped this in characters.Now the product of parameters happens from object dependencies concept in class.

How to do object dependencies.
