can anyone explain the task and activity function used in pm notification?
And in which scenario we use these function?
how to configure the task automatic determination function?

IN tasks you can enter the code groups which are alreadycreated in QS41.
or without code groups also you can enter the long text and dpo the process.
The processing of unplanned maintenance tasks can be divided into the following steps:
You report a malfunction or a problem at a technical system or part of a technical system, or describe the condition of the technical system, and create a maintenance notification for this.
You use the maintenance notification to request a maintenance task.
You create a maintenance order and plan the work that is to be performed.
You release the maintenance order.
You perform the order.
You complete the order, and confirm it as being completed.
You enter technical information in the order, such as findings, causes, breakdown times and activities.
You close the order and the maintenance notification, and the system saves the relevant data for evaluations and for the planning of future maintenance activities.
Task:
Work that is planned within the framework of a notification. In contrast to an activity, the planning and organizational aspects of a notification are the most important.
Using tasks, you can plan the way in which various persons work together to process the notification and perform the activities within a specified period of time.
You can enter the following data for each task:
Key for the task to be performed, and a brief instruction of how the work is to be performed.
Planned start and end of the task
Task status
A task can relate both to the notification header, as well as to the individual items. They can have different statuses.
An example of a task in a problem notification might be, for example, to inform the construction department of a defect.
In a service notification - the main area where tasks are used - frequently occurring tasks might be "Call customer back within an hour" and "Technician to be on site within a day
Data regarding tasks in the notification is displayed in varying levels of detail in two different screens:
In the task overview
In the task detail screen
The task overview and detail screens are the same for all notification types.
Tasks are used to plan and manage notifications as a background process. For this reason, it is useful to be able to determine the various processing stages that a task has reached using statuses.
There are three statuses relevant to tasks in the system:
Released
The task can now be performed.
Completed
The task has been performed.
Successful
The results of the task were positive; the problem has been solved or the damage repaired
Activity:
Work that is performed within the framework of a notification. In contrast to the task, the activity describes what has already been performed within the framework of solving the problem. You can enter the following data for each individual activity:
Key for the activity that was performed, and a short text that can be changed individually
Start and end of the activity
Quantity factor for the activity
An activity can relate both to the header of a notification, as well as to the individual items.

Use T-code QS41 and choose catalog 2 and then in Code group Field type anything eg. ABCD press enter.
Second column enter short text and third column Released
select this line and double click on codes (left side).
Press New Entries> 1st couln code no. eg 0010 secoond column text eg. Check Power supply
Like this you can create as many task.
Same way in the same T-code you choose A (catalog) you can create activities.

Activities: which you did at the time of maintenance

Normally task it used whenever a notification is created ,planner will look the notification and assign the task to the performing person to check the following task .
Also if the maintenance required other department you can specify in this task
On seeing the task ,technician will perform the task and record the activities he has done.
for automatic determination of task ,first create the response and service profile which should be assigned to the notification
