LDAP Authentication issue whille connecting to BOXIR2 usinng designer

Hi,

We are using BOXIR2 in websphere with LDAP authentication. While connecting BOE with designer usinng LDAP authentication got the following error.

"[repo_proxy 13] SessionFacade::openSessionLogon with user info has failed(Security plugin error: Failed to set parameters on plugin.(hr=#0x80042a01)"

but if I remote login and with designer i am able to connect.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Tim,

Thanks for you time. yes I can login to InfoView with LDAP authentication.

We have BOXIR2 SP2. If you could help on this, I would really appreciate.

Client designer version 11.5.8.826.

well run the software inventory tool on server and client to verify the same patch level.

There are no known LDAP issues with designer on SP2. Do you have any type of firewall in place? Windows firewall?

You may need to open a message with support so an engineer can view a packet scan of the logon attempt. If you want to try and look yourself filter by GIOP or LDAP protocol.

Can you login to infoview with LDAP?

This error I believe matches up with a bug we had on SP3, fix was to install FP3.3 on the designer client or replace some missing files in the windows system (sm.) with copies from the server.

However there are other reasons for this error too.

To verify designer client version run the software inventory tool from the business objects program group.
