Crystal Server XI upgrading to Crystal Server 2008

I tried to install the 2008 server on a server that already has Server XI. However, it does not pick up that there is already an installed version already on it. I installed it and in the Central Configuration Manager there is no services. The other one is still running and working but the new one does not have anything. Plus during the install it said it could not start the CMS and then errored.

I tried to uninstall it and it erros out as well.

Any help would be appreciated.

I did upgrade CRS XI to CRS2008. But had to upgrade to SP3 first. The upgrade option was available only after I installed SP3. After installation the server was up and running. I was able to logon to CMC and Infoview and run reports. But lately, I am getting an error that SIA could not be started. It starts and then stops immediately saying that CMS is not running on port 6400. I am not sure what went wrong. Any idea?
