Search on Material PO Text (LTXT)

Hi,

In Material Master Creation (MM01) there is a limited 40 characters

available in short description field (MAKTX) & supported by excellent

search help.

As lot of material needs to define in more then 40 characters , we have

used Material PO Text (LTXT) field for the same.

How can we search any item code with in Material PO text ( LTXT ) ?

Is any Standard T-Code is availabe for same ? Is SAP doing some

developmet to meet the requirement in future ?

Please guide suitably in this matter.

Long Texts are Stored in STXH & STXL Tables and the Same can be Retrieved thru FM READ_TEXT in SE37. Communicate your abaper Once......

Hi Shyam,

Function Module (se37) READ_TEXT displays the long text maintained in the material master record. You can use this should you decide to customize a search program.

Enter the following and execute.

CLIENT = <your client>

ID = GRUN

LANGUAGE = EN

NAME = <material number>

OBJECT = MATERIAL

ARCHIVE_HANDLE = 0

LOCAL_CAT = <blank>

Hi,

As far as I know there is no search option for PO Text and also downloading it from table will display in sap scrpt language which need to be converted to normal.
