is it a Technical Requirement?

Hi Gaurav,

It is recommended, but not mandatory, right, Muthuraman?

The system uses some transactions to determine which RFC will be used for the communication between one system and another, for example, in transaction 'Define backend systems' in SPRO, you can define that the current SRM client has an ECC backend system named X and the RFC destination for this X system is Y (not necessarily the same name).

Hi

Yes. You can check with your basis lead also.

It is one of the good practices we follow in sap.

We ahve maintained the same in our system.

Hi Muthu,

i understand that its a best practice, but what i want to know is if its a technical constraint as i am of the same idea as Hermont that when a mapping is maintained then is there a need for them to be same.So apart from Being a Best Practice is it a technical constraint?

It's not a constraint. But to avoid confusion down the line, it is better to give the same name.
