Hi,

while creating PO from PR the following error is coming.

"Item category K can only be used without account assignment"

How to solve this

Dear Sairam,

Please check the "item category" & "account assignment" of your PR.

While creation of PR user might have entered both "item category" & "account assignment" so it will come into the PO automatically.

So remove the account assignment from PR and create PO the problem will be resolved.

Hello,

Item category K cannot be used with an account assignment as the goods are not physically used in the company. The stock is stilla consignment stock and belongs to vendor. Using an account assignment will book the cost in the company's expenses.

use an account assignment if required when you transfer from consignment to own stock.

Hi,

Check the attributes of Item Category "K" i.e. Consignment in SPRO > MM > Purchasing > Define External Representation of Item Categories

Here you can see the 1st subscreen i.e. "Control: acct. assgt;"

Here "Addit. Acct Assignmnt" in marked as Not allowed so it will not allow to use account assignment category with item category "K"

check ur PR ,ru using item cat K (cost center )

if yes then in po acct assignment tab at item level give a cost center

and if u dont want to use K then remove it from pr

Please check Define Combination of Item Categories/Account Assignment Cat in SPRO->Material Management>Accounts Assignment-->Define Combination of Item Categories/Account Assignment Categories.

Item category 'k' is not standard, i think.

Can u explain what it is?

The combination of item category and account assignment category should be defined in T.code OMG0.

Hi,

In the settings for the document types of PO please allow all the Item categories.

Also allow all the Account assignment categories for the Items categories.
