no profiles are available in RZ10

hi gurus ,

in one of our system i dont find any profile in RZ10 .

when i go to ,

UTILITIES->CHECK ALL PROFILES -> OF ACTIVE SERVERS

in the log it displays as 'instance profile missing '

i think still they have not imported profiles .

My doubt is ,

can we do it now ? will it affect any business operations ?

what are would be the disadvantages if i dont do that ?

Hi Susin,

You can import profiles by rz10-> from menu bar utilities->Import profiles-.of active servers

Check that the all profiles exist at o/s level under directory usr/sap/<sid>/sys/profile

Yes you can import the profile now it will affect nothing.Importing profiles means storing it in the database so that you can make changes to those from sap level that is suggested by sap.

Even when it will be at o/s level it will be giving the same parameter value.
